Who I am as a Coach
I grew up playing baseball and Track & Field and got to travel to Europe to play baseball in Germany, France, and Spain. I started Kickboxing in 2018 at AKA under both professional coaches and fighters. After learning all these new skills, I’ve had the opportunity to coach many people of all ages. As a striking coach, I instill confidence and discipline in my clients to become the best possible person they can be both mentally and physically. Learning didn’t stop there. Trying new activities like snowboarding, skimboarding, and archery tests my limits in different ways. Read more below about my experiences in sports!

During my years of playing baseball, I learned what it was like to put in hard work everyday especially in high school. Every weekday I would wake up at 4:00 in the morning to do my morning workouts whether it was weight training or hitting on the tee in the backyard. Afterwards, I would go to class which would lead into baseball practice at 3:30pm every Monday-Friday. Right after practice, my teammates and I would go back to my home for batting practice for about one to two hours. Baseball would practically be year round for me as I also competed in travel ball tournaments throughout summer, fall, and winter.

From when I started my MMA journey up to the present day, I was fortunate enough to be mentored by a variety of coaches. These coaches exposed me to different environments ranging from sparring and rigorous day-to-day training. It wasn't until I had the opportunity to begin coaching at the UFC Gym in Sunnyvale when I found my footing and my style of coaching. By gathering everything I knew from every coach I have worked with from baseball, track, MMA and strength training, I was able to program my workouts in a way that would be best suited for the Kickboxing Conditioning Class, Boxing Skills Class, and Kickboxing Skills Class. I was able to gather a large group of like-minded individuals to set up our own Sparring group in order to further enhance our skills and fine tune anything that may be in need of attention.

Throughout my life I always struggled to gain weight, however, it wasn't until I started doing my own research on how to gain weight and build muscle that I started to see massive improvements in body composition. Before I devoted myself to following my own body-building style routine, my walking weight would fluctuate anywhere between 150 pounds to around 165 pounds. During the COVID Pandemic lockdown, I used that time to build my own programs centered around exercise and diet. Within a year, I was able to go from 165 pounds to 195 pounds of lean muscle.
After about 2 years of consistent training, however, I decided to slowly shift my programs towards a new direction. With the amount of weight I was able to gain, I decided to go back to a more athletic style of training in order to regain the athleticism I had lost from body building training. In turn, now I am able to move with efficiency, while still maintaining the muscle I had gained, in sports such as baseball, snowboarding, boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, and sprinting.
